The catch is availability, not price. BA guarantees a minimum of 4 Club Europe reward seats per flight versus 8 in economy, and you need 2 on the same service, twice over, 19 days out from a peak-August weekend. Club reward space is the scarcest thing in this whole plan. Check it first — before fixing anything else — and have the Euro Traveller pairing as fallback.

Two passengers makes it usable, and in Club Europe the saving is real — but it's still the wrong trip for it.

• What it saves here. Covers the second person's Avios: 72,000 drops to 36,000. At ~1.96p that's about £700 of value — considerably more than the £150–215 I estimated when I had you in economy, so this is a closer call than I first suggested.
• What it saves on long-haul. A Club World redemption for two runs 150,000–200,000+ Avios. The voucher halves that, saving £1,500–3,000+. Still comfortably 2–4× better.
• You are not Avios-constrained. Even paying full freight for Club Europe you keep ~169,000 — enough for the long-haul redemption where the voucher earns its keep. Spending it here would be solving a problem you don't have.

Verdict: pay 72,000 for Club Europe, keep the voucher. If you have no long-haul plans before it expires, that calculus flips — a voucher unused is worth nothing.

Desk times assume checked bags. Reckon ~50–60 min from wheels-down to leaving the terminal, then ~50 min across town — the ~1h45 baked into this site. The Monday 07:00 lands 08:05, so realistically at your desk ~09:50, carrying camping gear. Worth knowing whether the office has somewhere to dump two rucksacks.

Highlighted Sunday slots are what the Sunday-evening flights cost you.

Two pinch points. The 13th is a deadline and your last working day — the argument against a Thursday evening flight. The 18th is a deadline and the cleaner, so you want to be home and functional by Monday night. That rules out the Monday 20:10 unless the deadline is soft.

Two rules that still bite:

• Gas canisters cannot fly — not hold, not cabin, no exceptions. Buy fuel in Cottbus or plan cold food.
• Pegs and poles go in the hold. The tent fitting in hand luggage will tempt you to keep it with you; don't. Sharp and pole-shaped items get pulled at security.

The one that mattered. My original headline recommendation was Monday 11:05, sold as a civilised half-day return. That flight does not exist. Monday is 07:00, 15:00, 20:10 — so the real choice is an early start and a full working day, or writing Monday off. There is no half-day option. That is a straightforward error in the earlier draft, caused by treating a published weekly timetable pattern as if it were date-specific inventory.
